Description of Via Ferrata Grude

Via Ferrata Peć Mlini follows a steep limestone wall above the spring of the Tihaljina River near Grude in western Herzegovina. The route starts immediately with a vertical climb using steel steps and ladders that quickly gain height above the canyon.

The ferrata continues through a series of exposed sections, technical traverses and short overhangs that require strength and good movement on the rock. With a constant level of difficulty and limited resting spots, the route is considered the most demanding via ferrata in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After reaching the top of the wall, the descent follows a scenic trail back through the landscape of Peć Mlini Adventure Park.

Why This Via Ferrata is Special

Via Ferrata Peć Mlini is considered the most demanding via ferrata in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The route follows a steep limestone wall and maintains a high level of difficulty almost from start to finish, making it a true challenge for strong and experienced climbers.

One of the unique features of this ferrata are the long steel ladders that slightly move while climbing. This dynamic movement adds an extra element of difficulty and requires good balance and confidence on vertical terrain.

Another special aspect of the climb is its location above the Peć Mlini Adventure Park. As you gain height on the wall, wide views open across the canyon and the surrounding Herzegovina landscape, creating a unique combination of technical climbing and scenic surroundings.

For those looking for a physically demanding and exciting ferrata experience, Peć Mlini offers one of the most intense climbs in the region.
